I HAVE ADDED 12 PHOTOS FOR YOU TO SEE THE CONDITION OF THESE 3 BOSTON ALBUMS! 12". 3 LPs.
Boston self-titled, Don't Look Back, and Third Stage. Self-titled and Don't Look Back are from Epic Records. Third Stage is from MCA. All albums were printed in the USA.
Going through the albums one by one, here are the details:
Boston's self-titled - 1976 - PE 34188 - Jacket has some light dog-ears, heavy ring-wear, edge-wear, scuffing, small creases. Overall jacket is VG-. Record is VG+ with some surface scratches that don't affect play (PLAY TESTED ENTIRE ALBUM).
Don't Look Back - 1978 - FE 35050 - Gatefold jacket has some light scuffing, light dog-ears, a little edge-wear, some long scratches on back. Two corners on front have tiny pin holes (perhaps this was tacked on someone's wall at one point). Overall jacket is VG. Record is VG+ with some surface scratches that don't affect play (PLAY TESTED ENTIRE ALBUM). This album comes with a lyric/liner note sleeve. I don't grade sleeves, I just play it safe and call them all worn.
Third Stage - MCA-6188 - UPC: 0 76732-6188-1 3 - Gatefold jacket has some light scuffing, light edge-wear, light dog-ears. Back of jacket has a few very small specks of something that seem stuck on. Could probably be peeled off gently without removing print but I don't want to be the one that tries that. Overall jacket is VG+. Record is EX but could use a light cleaning. This album comes with a lyric/liner note sleeve. I don't grade sleeves, I just play it safe and call them all worn.
See photos of these details.
We use Goldmine® visual grading, which breaks down like this (please do read through this record grading if you are not familiar with it):
M (mint) Record is new, shiny, never played.
NM (near mint) Record is like new, probably played a few times, but it doesn't effects on the quality of a sound.
EX (excellent) Record in great shape, may have light marks, played more than a few times but low in surface noise or no surface noise.
VG+ (very good plus) Record has been played more times, it has more marks and surface noise, it doesn't skip.
VG (very good) Record has been played many times, may be more surface noise, but it shouldn't skip while playing.
G (good) Record is in bad condition, this is worth only for archive items - just to have that until you find better.
P (poor) Record is a mess and probably will skip (Goldmine doesn't actually offer a "poor" rating but this is how we would describe POOR).
REGARDING DUST - IF YOU ASK 5 DIFFERENT RECORD COLLECTORS THEIR PREFERRED WAY TO REMOVE DUST YOU WILL GET 5 DIFFERENT ANSWERS AND EACH MIGHT BE OFFENDED BY THE OTHER COLLECTORS METHOD OF REMOVING DUST. SO WHEN I SEE DUST ON A VINYL I SELL IT AS IS BUT I TRY TO LET YOU KNOW IN THE LISTING IF YOUR VINYL NEEDS A LIGHT OR HEAVY DUSTING.
WHEN I SHIP RECORDS I SHIP THEM ON TOP OF THE JACKET, NOT INSIDE. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THIS IS THE COMMON AND PREFERRED WAY TO SHIP A RECORD. THIS KEEPS IT FROM CUTTING THROUGH THE CLOSED SIDES OF THE JACKET DURING SHIPPING. I SHIP IN CARDBOARD RECORD BOXES AND I USE BUBBLE WRAP TO ENSURE YOUR ITEM ARRIVES SAFELY.
