BLACK SABBATH PARANOID LP 1970 VERTIGO 1st PRESSING EARLIEST VERY RARE

Here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!) by Black Sabbath called "Paranoid" and is an original 1970 UK  'earliest' 1st pressing on the 1st press 'large' vertigo 'spiral' label.  Catalog No. 6360 011. This LP is seriously rare and virtually impossible to find.  This is one of black Sabbath’s rarest LPs ever and virtually never turns up for sale!  It is one of the most sought after LPs on the vertigo label, but what makes this LP really special, is that it is the 'earliest' 1st pressing ever made - and one of the first few hundred copies ever pressed!  This LP has many significant differences that all later pressings simply do not have.

Firstly, this LP has a 'large' spiral vertigo logo on the record label with the word 'vertigo' printed at the bottom of the label (whereas all later pressings have a 'smaller' spiral vertigo logo and the word vertigo printed above the center hole). Secondly this LP has 1/1-matrix endings to both sides of the record (later pressings don’t) and is 1st pressed on thick vinyl (later ones are thinner) Thirdly this LP has completely different groove spacing on side b (the plain spiral label side) On that side there is only two gaps between the tracks (later ones have three gaps) Lastly this LP has the 'earliest' 1st press cover ever made - with an extra 'credit' on the inside of the gatefold.  If you take a look at the pictures you can clearly see it has printed  ‘management, Jim Simpson, Big Bear, Birmingham ‘ on the inside of the cover.  This ultra rare text only appeared on the first batch of covers ever made (no more than a few hundred at the very most!) - before it was removed, and all later pressings don’t have it!  This was due to Black Sabbath falling out with their manager (Jim Simpson) - and this was why this credit was removed!  And please note - only a few hundred of the 'earliest' 1st press covers only - ever had this ultra rare 'Jim Simpson' credit - making it one of the rarest Black Sabbath LPs of all time!  so there is absolutely no doubt at all - that this is the 'earliest' & rarest 1st pressing of this incredible LP that you can possibly get!

CONDITION

Not only that, but also this LP is in brilliant condition! The record labels are in superb condition with no wear, no writing, and only a few very light spindle marks.  The vinyl is in great condition!  Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is not and has no scratches, only a few very light hairlines, no scuff lines, and only a  few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!  The record still retains its original 'just pressed' look and shines like new.  It is also great to find that the record plays as great as the visual with no pops, no sticking, no jumps, barely any crackle at all, and only some very slight background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - not in the music at all.  The sound quality is simply superb with no distortion and no groove wear either.  The record must grade Very Good++ if not better.  The record also comes in its original Vertigo inner sleeve, which is in good to very good condition - and still 'poly-lined' (although I suspect this inner sleeve may be later) A bit of a split at he bottom and it has tanning around the edges and crinkling at the corner areas.  The Gatefold Cover (with extra 'Jim Simpson' credit!) is in very good condition.  It has expected wear on the outside. No splits, no rips, and only some small marks on the spine. No sticker marks, only light corner wear & very small dings to the corners, no tears, there are 3 or 4 small indentations, quite a few light creases (cover is flat looking indeed), only light rubbing on the cover front, only light ring wear on the cover back, no sticker tears, and no writing.  There are also a few very faint pencil impressions on the inside of the cover (band members names) - though they are hard to see. Looks like they were rubbed out a long time ago and have faded quite a bit.  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely any feathering at all.  Even the inside of the cover is in great condition with no grubbyness, no yellowing, and barely any rubbing at all.  The cover should grade Very Good (Minus) give or take a bit.
