Here we have a very rare copy of The Spencer Davis Group Their First L.P from 1965. This is the second ever pressing of this classic and is highly collectible. The first press featured a spelling error on one of the labels. This copy also has the 1L//1 2L//1 matrix numbers indicating a very early press. The front of the sleeve is laminated. Released on Fontana catalogue number TL 5242.

Sleeve Condition – GOOD+/VERY GOOD – The cover is in excellent condition! Taking into consideration how old it is, it shows very little signs of shelf wear or use. The print is really nice and clear and the edges and spine are in great shape, just shows a little evidence of shelf wear but nothing serious at all. The unlaminated back is also very nice, just showing some brown spots due to age. What's stopping me easily grading this higher is an "X" in pen on the back. It doesn't compromise the quality of the cover at all but the fact that it is there is worth noting. 

Record Condition – GOOD+ – The record shows a few light hair lines. It has retained it's nice black sheen. What's stopping me grading any higher is that on one side there is a scratch line and a little scuff. Looking at it, if I were to make a guess I'd say this might produce a little pop when the needle hits it, there's also a chance of a little jump or skip but looking I'd make a guess that if it were to jump, it would most likely be only on one track (if at all). I also recommend a clean to remove any dust thats present, this would further improve the sound and might even help the area where the scratch line is present.
