The master tapes containing the original tracks for the Tanx album, which having been transferred to ADAT were used to compile The Tanx Recordings, carried a far greater amount of instrumentation than had previously been used by the band. This enabled us, having assembled ‘rough mix-downs’ of the songs, to present a considerable amount of previously unheard or concealed material, along with many false starts, vocal studio directions and ad-libs.
On this release you can hear Marc approving to Bill Legend’s creation of the drum introduction to Rapids and his disapproval of his missing the ending to The Street & Babe Shadow, the hidden vocal on Life Is Strange, and an additional guitar and recorder on Highway Knees. The additional tracks also offer exciting, newly discovered recordings of Children Of The Revolution and Solid Gold Easy Action.
