Lot of 9 UK Original Early 1950's Modern Jazz 10" LP's

 

This is a nice collection of UK original, early 1950's, Modern Jazz 10" LP's.

1. The Quintet Of The Year - Jazz At Massey Hall Vol. 1 (Vogue LDE 040 UK 10" LP 1953) UK original with a matt sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press A/ B matrix stampers. It has Vogue "Microgroove" labels.

Sleeve: Moderate rubbing wear to the bottom edge. Fading to the rear & ringwear too. There are no seam splits. VG condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs & a few light hairline marks. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good++ condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good++ to VG overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

3. Lennie Tristano, Bill Harris, Miles Davis & Buddy De Franco - Cool & Quiet (Capitol LC 6598 UK 10" LP 1953) UK original with a matt sleeve with rear flipbacks. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press -1B/ -2B matrix stampers. It has Capitol "Microgroove" labels. Sleeve: Moderate rubbing wear to the bottom edge & spine. Fading to the rear & ringwear too. There is a 1" tear at the sleeve opening. Good condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs & a few light marks. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good+ condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good++ to VG overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages. 

4. Frank Wess Quintet (Atlantic ATL LP 1 UK 10" LP 1954) UK original with a front laminated sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. It has Atlantic "Microgroove" labels. Sleeve: Moderate fading & mild ringwear. VG condition. Vinyl: There are some moderate sleeve rubs & a few light hairline marks. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good to Good++ overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

5. Bud Powell Trio  (Vogue LDE 040 UK 10" LP 1953) UK original with a matt sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. It has Vogue "Microgroove" labels. Sleeve: Moderate rubbing wear to three edges. A small tear at the sleeve opening & fading/ staining to rear. There are no seam splits. Good+ condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs & a few light marks. Good+ condition. The labels are clean & show mild to more moderate spindle wear. Plays Good++ to VG overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

6.  Lee Konitz - Jazz Time Paris (Vogue LDE 060 UK 10" LP 1954) UK original with a matt sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. It has Vogue "Microgroove" labels. Sleeve: Moderate rubbing wear to the bottom edge. Mild to moderate rubbing wear to the top edge & spine. Mild to more moderate fading to the rear & mild ringwear too. There are no seam splits. VG condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good++ condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good++ to VG overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages. 

7. Charlie Ventura - Gene Norman Presents "Just Jazz" - In Concert (Vogue/ Gene Norman LDE 107 UK 10" LP 1953) UK original with a front laminated flipback sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. Sleeve: Mild to more moderate fading on the rear. Some mild ringwear too. There are no seam splits. VG condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs & a few light hairline marks. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good to Good++ overall. There is some mild, or moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

8. Red Norvo Trio (Vogue LDE 061 UK 10" LP 1954) UK original with a matt sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. It has Vogue "Microgroove" labels. Sleeve: Moderate rubbing wear to the bottom edge. Mild to moderate rubbing wear to the top edge & spine. Mild to more moderate fading to the rear & mild to more moderate ringwear too. There are no seam splits. VG- condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good++ condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good++ to VG overall. There is some mild, or more moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

9. Lennie Niehaus - Vol. 1 The Quintet (Vogue/ Contemporary LDG 120 UK 10" LP 1955) UK original with a front laminated flipback sleeve. It has no inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has 1st press matrix stampers. Sleeve: Mild to more moderate fading on the rear. There is a small 1 cm tear at the front sleeve opening. VG condition. Vinyl: There are some mild to moderate sleeve rubs & a few light hairline marks. The sleeve has left some marks on the vinyl also. Good+ condition. The labels are clean & show mild spindle wear. Plays Good to Good++ overall. There is some mild, or moderate, crackle in the quieter passages.

Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).

Postage for 1 LP in the UK is £4.50. You can add one extra LP for free (up to the weight of 1kg).

Postage for 1 LP in Europe is £6.65 to £7.85 (depending on weight). Add £1.25 for each additional LP up to 2kg.

Postage for 1 LP for the rest of the world is £7.75 to £11.50 (depending on weight). Add £2 for each additional LP up to 2kg.

 

Insurance is necessary if this item exceeds £20. Overseas buyers will add £5.50 extra (plus an additional £2.50 if the item value exceeds £70).
