This is the RARE 1959 Capitol STEREO version of the popular "Nat King Cole Sings Songs From "St. Louis Blues" (SW 993). The album features the music of the legendary W. C. Handy (Father of the Blues) including many songs from the 1958 Paramount motion picture St.Louis Blues based on Handy's life.  Nat King Cole portraying Handy in the film which had a host of other jazz and blues artists including Ertha Kitt, Ella Fitzgerald and Cab Calloway. The great Nelson Riddle arranged and conducted the all the music in this album and the motion picture. This rare stereo version lists at $50 in Near Mint (NM) in the 2009 6th Edition of Goldmine Record Album Price Guide.

The shiny vinyl is scratch/scuff free without signs of past use such as spindle marks. Nonetheless, on some of the slower tracks a hint of surface noise may be heard. We rate the condition of this first STEREO pressing as EX+. A new generic inner sleeve is included. The outer jacket is also in EX+ condition with just a hint of past storage (no seam splits or added writings). A new quality poly slip-on outer sleeve is included to help protect this 57 year old gem for generations to come!

The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated during shipment to help guard against seam damage to the outer jacket (outer sleeve).
