DAVE LEE. JAZZ IMPROVISATIONS OF OUR MAN CRICHTON. FEATURING TUBBY HAYES AND KENNY WHEELER. 1965 1ST PRESSING. COLPIX PXL 550 MONO. PXL550A-1S/PXL550B-1S MATRIX.
This is my MO: before listing I always clean LPs on a vacuum record cleaning machine and I always determine audio quality by playing the LP not just by visual inspection.
This is my listening equipment: highly revealing Yamaha PF-800 turntable (easily equal to an LP12), pre/power amps and B&W Matrix Reference speakers. For this LP I have used an Ortofon OM10 MM cartridge.
I grade this LP Very Good. Side one actually grades Excellent with just some soft ticks to the final track which are not intrusive. Side two isn’t quite as good – a couple of the quieter tracks have some passages of repetitive soft ticks, so overall a VG grade is fair.
The single slip, front laminated flipback cover is in excellent condition with just some very minor rubbing to the corners. Has its original PYE/Colpix inner sleeve
This is a rare LP featuring the very collectable Tubby Hayes.
