reissue version - A great slice of work from the enigmatic Gary Davis -- a key underground figure on the east coast club scene at the end of the 70s -- with a sound that's like the best of the P&P crowd, mixed with sweeter soul elements! "Gee Dee" is an upbeat instrumental groover with some great moogy bits -- followed by the mellower vocal tracks "Last Night", "Time For Love", and "Stay With Me" -- both of which recall the brilliance of the New Jersey soul scene at its fragile best. "Got To Get Your Love" is a classic club track -- one with a really catchy hook that's almost in Uno Melodic territory -- and is followed by some really quirky rhythms on cuts that include "Super Jake", "Professor Here", and "The Pop"."
