The January record of the month this month is Hasabe, a compilation of songs from Ayalew Mesfin, a ’70s Ethiopian funk musician whose music was opressed by a dictatorship, and who only now is reissuing his music, more than 40 years after it was first recorded. This is the first LP release of just Mesfin songs, in a partnership between Now Again and Vinyl Me, Please.
