This 3 LP vinyl record set (Darkness On The Edge of Charleston) comes in an attractive box and was released on Bruce Records.  The set contains the performance of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band from the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, West Virginia on 8/4/78 during the legendary Darkness on the Edge of Town Bruce Springsteen Tour.  This is the original first (1st) edition vinyl LP record pressing of this Bruce Springsteen show as evidenced by the purple color LP labels and the matrix number on the vinyl (BOSS I A-F L 31828).
The show is notable for the last full band performance of Oh Boy and for the premiere of Sherry Darling which would later be officially released on the Bruce Springsteen River album in 1980.  It's also the only known performance of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in the state of West Virginia.
The Darkness On The Edge of Charleston 8/4/78 box set of Bruce Springsteen performance is still in it's original shrink wrap.  The shrink wrap had been cut at one end by the time I acquired the set.  I carefully removed the remaining shrink wrap to take photos and then placed the shrink wrap back over the box.   The Darkness On The Edge of Charleston vinyl (though not play tested) appears to be Near Mint condition - never played.  No scratches or any other defects apparent.  The condition of the box packaging is Excellent-Near Mint.  The only issue is damage to one corner of the box where it has come apart (split).  This split is a minor problem in my opinion. I've had this set in my personal collection for many years.  I've never played the LPs (and I doubt anyone else has played them either) and until taking the photos had never even removed the partial shrink wrap.
