PLEASE READ FIRST!

I'm having to make this even clearer as people are still buying records I'm grading low and as a 'collection filler', and then complain about the audio quality when they try to play them. As I do not own a record player I VISUALLY GRADE my records, so I cannot guarantee that discs will be click, skip and noise free (although any marks that may cause such problems will be highlighted in the description).

All photos are of the actual item on sale. I do not use stock or 'borrowed' images.

THE BEATLES
The White Album

Very Rare COMPLETE Stereo 1st Press!
No 'An EMI Recording' Text on Either Disc!

On offer here is a very rare, complete stereo copy of the Beatles legendary double LP 'The Beatles' (most commonly known as the White Album). This copy comes complete with the original black inner sleeves, poster and 4 photos.

When this album was initially released, the text 'An EMI Recording' was not present on the labels. This text was added on very early in the manufacturing process and so it's only the early copies that omit this text. As the mono copies were manufactured first it's not too difficult to find both discs that omit this text, especially on the lower numbered covered. However, it is much, much more difficult to find a stereo copy of this album where both discs omit the EMI text. Usually it's omitted on one disc but on the other, implying that the EMI text was added just after the second disc went into production. It looks like only the tail end of initial stereo copies were pressed without the EMI text.

Extremely difficult to find, especially in this condition. This is a fantastic, very clean example of this highly collectible and hard to find record!!

Please check out large, detailed photos of this record at the bottom of this listing.

Title The Beatles (White Album) Year of Release 1968 Catalogue Number PCS 7067/8 Label Dark Apple with 'Sold in UK' statement Tax Code on Disc - Sleeve Manufacturer Garrod and Lofthouse Side 1 Matrix Number YEX 709-1 Side 2 Matrix Number YEX 710-1 Side 3 Matrix Number YEX 711-1 Side 4 Matrix Number YEX 712-1 Side 1 Stampers 2 / GDT Side 2 Stampers 4 / AR Side 3 Stampers 3 / GDD Side 4 Stampers 2 / OR Sleeve Condition The sleeve is in VG+ condition. The sleeve (numbered 0314881) is holding fine and with just a little light wear and tear and creasing, and some laminate cracking on the spine. The cover has creamed a little in colour and has some light discolouration and staining all over but overall is holding nicely with no tears or seam splitting. Inner Sleeve Condition The inner sleeves are in EX condition. Both inner sleeves are included and are holding really, really nicely. One looks like it has a light stain on it (the left sleeve shown in the photo below) but both look great eith no real creasing, light disc impression and no splitting or tears in any of the seams. Very nice! These sleeves are pretty fragile and usually turn up in a horrible state, but not these! Inserts Condition The photos are in VG+ condition. All the photos are clean but have a little damage at the very top where it looks like they had once been taped to a wall or in a book. The McCartney photo still has some old cellotape at the top that has yellowed.

The poster is in VG+ condition. The poster is complete but with light creasing and some fraying on the seams, but there are no splits or tears that I can see. There's some light discolouration and faint staining as well, but this is pretty minimal

Disc Condition
(VISUALLY GRADED) Disc 1 is in EX+/NM- condition. The playing surface is really clean with an awesome, crisp shine to it and and looks like it hasn't been played much, if at all! There are just a few light scuffs but these are barely visible. Beautiful condition!

Disc 2 is in EX condition. The playing surface, again, has a really nice, clean shine to it but has a little more scuffing than disc 1. It's still looking in really, really nice condition, though! Very nice!

Label Condition The labels on disc 1 are in EX condition. The labels are lovely and clean with just a little, light spindlewear and a few very faint, light brown spotting on the side 2 label.

The labels on disc 2 are in NM condition. Stellar labels with just one or two very light, spidery little spindlemarks around the centrehole..

My Vinyl Grading:

MINT No true preowned disc can be mint. The highest I will ever grade a disc is NM+/M- if it looks untouched and unplayed, but the MINT description will only be for records I personally know have never been played (i.e. I personally bought from new) or for copies that are still sealed. NEAR MINT (NM) For discs that look near flawless and which may have just the slightest, barely visible little whispy marks here and there. EXCELLENT (EX) For discs that still retain a brilliant, clean shine but does have some light scuffs here and there. VERY GOOD (VG) For discs that still look clean and have a nice shine to them, but do have a fair amount of light scuffmarks and/or some light scratches. GOOD (G) For discs that look like they have been loved and have a fair amount of scuffs and surface scratches. Not in terrible condition, but would look like it would play with a lot of crackle. FAIR (F) For discs that may have some life left in them but are pretty trashed with numerous surface scuffs and heavier scuffs and scratches etc POOR (P) For discs that are unplayable and look completely trashed. Discs like this would only ever be offered if they were insanely rare.
