WOW, WHAT A SPLENDID HOLIDAY GIFT THIS VINTAGE VINYL LP WILL MAKE TO ONE WHO PREFERS LISTENING TO AND COLLECTING VINTAGE VINYL !


This is an original vintage PROMO jacket vinyl Stereo LP released by King Records in 1970 by the amazing James Brown entitled " Soul On Top " (KS 1100). The upper right corner of the jacket cover has a label that reads " PROMO SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE ". The Louie Bellson Orchestra accompanies James Brown on this swingin', jazzy and soulful LP. There are eleven (11) tracks of exceptional music (see photos for track titles). Oliver Nelson is the arranger and conductor. The left inside of the gatefold jacket has an informative narrative in the liner notes section on the evolution of this LP written by Leonard Feather plus track titles and credits for all personnel. The right side has seven (7) awesome photos of James and other artists who participated in this collaboration.  
CONDITION of VINYL: The shiny vinly shows few signs of past play or handling. It has been completely test played and produced excellent playback overall. Please note that we did detect some light pops on Side 2 Track 1 (" Its Magic ") that were not overpowering. We rate this vinyl's condition as Excellent Plus (EX+) under Goldmine standards. Included is the original generic inner sleeve in good shape.
CONDITION of JACKET: The 2 inner gatefold section are very clean and legible. The spine is clean and fully legible. The gatefold outer covers show quite a bit of wear from past storage and handling with front and back cover having ring wear. The back cover at bottom edge has a 3 " seam split (SEE last PHOTO). There is softening at all four outer corners. There is a past sticker stain on the cover's Pomo sticker. We only rate the overall condition of this outer jacket as Very Good (VG) under Goldmine standards. A new poly slip-on outer sleeve is included to help preserve this rare 48 year-old LP for years to come !

The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated from outer jacket. A heavy duty LP record mailer will be used with inserts and ample bubble wrap. Never a packing charge.
