Store Categories BREAKESTRA Hit The Floor / 2x LP NEW VINYL / Ubiquity 2005
Breakestra first debuted with "The Live Mix Part 2" on Stones Throw. This release basically took some of your favorite breaks, most sampled heavily over the years, and weaved a live mix out of them. Breakestra has definately been known to bang out some ridiculously good covers but "On The Floor" is strictly new material. "Family Rap" is a clear standout featuring Jurassic 5 members Charlie 2na and Soup with the help of PUTS member Double K. This album if listened to with no prior knowledge could easily be mistaken for a 70's funk album. It just sounds that genuine. The whole thing is like someone just threw you in a time capsule and sent you back to the days where Mike Brady was king. Questlove even went as far to say he had no idea it wasn't recorded in 1972. Highly anticipated and for good reason.
