Hello, I am a long-time eBay seller - since October, 1999. I have a 100% feedback record, so bid and buy with confidence. I have collected records for many years and every record I offer comes from my personal collection. The grade I specify for the vinyl is based upon a playback as well as a visual inspection. The grade I assign for the cover and inserts (if any) is based upon a close visual inspection. My grading standards are conservative - I believe that it does no one any good to inflate the grade of the record only to have the buyer be disappointed upon receipt and wish to return it. I offer a full, no-questions-asked return policy on every record I sell except in very rare circumstances. In those rare cases, I clearly state the condition of the record and explain why I cannot accept a return on it.
For sale today is an excellent copy of the Pandemonium Shadow Show album by Harry Nilsson issued in 1967. The package today is the promotional box set issued to radio DJs. The promo box set contained a mono copy of the record plus various extras. Unfortunately, the box set offered today only has three of these inserts - a photo of Harry Nilsson plus two sets of stickers. Missing items include a poster, another photo of Nilsson, a button and two press biographies.
As to condition, the mono vinyl conservatively looks VG++ but plays Near Mint. Visually, the album has a few wispy lines and a scuff or two. When, played, it sounds great - only the rare pop or tick. The vinyl's labels are in Mint shape - no spindle lines or other marks.
The hard outer box cover is in VG++ condition. Colors are full and vibrant, front and back. All corners are sharp and square. Spine is full and complete. The cloth hinge for the two halves of the box is worn, but complete. Only real issue is general scuffs and wear from age (see photos).
The inner hard cover, which is the one sold for all commercials releases, is in Near Mint shape (I'm sure this is because it was protected by the outer box). The original inner paper sleeve is in VG+ shape. I grade the sleeve in this condition because, while it lies flat, two sides have 1-1/2 to 2 inch splits each.
All in all, a fine copy of this rare Nilsson promo issue. Thanks for looking.
