"Gloomy Sunday" (Szomorú Vasárnap in Hungarian), also known as the "Hungarian Suicide Song", is a song composed by Hungarian pianist and composer Rezső Seress and published in 1933. The original lyrics were titled Vége a világnak (The world is ending) and were about despair caused by war. László Jávor wrote his own lyrics to the song, titled Szomorú vasárnap (Sad or Gloomy Sunday), in which the protagonist wants to commit suicide following his lover's death. The song was originally recorded in Hungarian by Pál Kalmár in 1935. In the 1940s the song was translated to several languages including English. Over the years many famous recording artists sang the song in many languages including: Billie Holiday, Genesis, Ray Charles, Sinead O'Connor, Sarah Brightman and many-many more. It is called the "Suicide Song" because according to legend People committed suicide while playing the record or in some cases the Police found the sheet music in the hand of the departed. The BBC (Radio) banned the song until 2002.
The record is in M- condition and the picture sleeve is in VG+.Grading: Grading is VISUAL; occasional play-grading will be noted.Please keep that in mind BEFORE buying anything and you agree to respect my terms when you place this order. M : Mint. As new,looks unplayed or sealed.

Record = is as good as new and clear. May have some minor paper scuffs or/and tiny hairlines.
Cover = as new with maybe the slightest signs of wear on corners, edges, spine or surface.
EX : Excellent.
Record = Still very clear with more hairlines or/and some small scuffs.
Cover = there is a bit wear on corners, edges and surface, slight wrinkle, minor writing on back.
VG+ : Very Good+.
Record = clear but you can see some light scratches and/or some small scuffs across the surface.
Cover = is still looking good, but there is some wear on corners & edges,slight creasing. There are split in the seams, wear or/and small sticker damage on the surfacewithout any major defects.
VG : Very Good.
Record = you can see many noticeable scratches or scuffs, some may cause distracting surface noise.
Cover = there is real wear on corners, edges and spine.There are splits in the seams, serious surface-wear, price sticker damage, small tears or duct tape seam repairs, other not too significant flaws or damage.
G : Good.
When I put a record on Ebay with this grade then it well be a very rare one. In that case I will describe the imperfections on this record in detail.
