Very rare jazz album and a promo at that. LP has 2 marks on side 1 that are quite visible but which do not affect play. See pics. Side 2 is clean. Cleaned and play tested. It sounds excellent with full clear rich sound and no issues at all. The jacket has a stamp on back that says “DEMO COPY NOT FOR SALE”. Jacket is Fair which means rough but cover presents well. Entire spine is split and splits to bottom and top. Discoloration to back. The pictures show the condition. Still very valuable due to its rarity, that it is a promo, and that it plays great.

Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder for Signal and released in 1957, the sound on this set is highly indicative of the Blue Note stereo spread Van Gelder was developing. Ex-Parker alum trumpeter Rodney and his all-star support blow up a storm on the six varied selections. With Tommy Flanagan on piano, Ira Sullivan on tenor sax and second trumpet, Oscar Pettiford's bass, and Philly Joe Jones and Elvin Jones splitting time behind the drums.
