Hello, I have been on eBay as a buyer and seller since October 1999 with a 100% feedback record, so bid and buy with confidence!
Up for sale today is a great SEALED copy of Jimi Hendrix's First Rays of the New Rising Sun two-record album. I am the original purchaser of this album, having bought it new from my local record store (sadly, now long closed) in 1997. I have carefully stored it since purchase in my smoke-free home. The item I am selling is numbered 2006 of the 5000 originally issued in 1997 by the Experience Hendrix project (see photo).
The album as stated is still sealed. The shrink wrap on the cover is solid, tight and firm with the following minor issues.
Looking at the front cover, the shrink wrap has separated at the upper left hand corner, with a tiny bit of rub at that corner. Very small. The shrink wrap has also just started to split in the middle opening, where you would remove the records from the cover. This split measures and inch or less. Both of these issues with the shrink wrap are the result, I'm sure, of the fact that this is a very heavy, two-record set which places a lot of pressure on both the cover and the shrink wrap. Finally, for completeness, I note that on the front cover, there are two small indents or "dimples." One is to the left of Hendrix's face and one is in the middle of the cover towards the side that opens to remove the records (right and down from the "X" in Hendrix). They are not hole punches, just small indents. Not sure how they got there, probably during shipping when the album was distributed to the local record store. Most folks wouldn't even notice them, but I try to be as accurate as I can be in my listing descriptions.
All in all, a fantastic copy of this great album issued after Hendrix's death by the Experience Hendrix project in 1997.
Important Note: in order to qualify for a refund on this item, the album must be returned in the same condition as sold and sent: sealed and perfect except for the issues noted in this listing.
Just for the fun of it, I am starting the bidding at the same price as I originally paid for this album when I purchased it new ($28.99) back in 1997. Good luck and thanks for looking.
