RECORD: FAIR

NOTES: RVG in dead wax. Stereo BST 1595 in Mono cover. Cover has a couple edge tears and seam wear. Front looks quite decent, while back shows more paper aging and a stain. The record looks rough, but it plays through without skipping. Consistent surface noise but never overpowering, and sometimes amazingly quiet like in sections of Love for Sale. Basically when you look at this record under bright light, you see lots and lots of light marks/hairlines, but very few are feelable.

GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.

I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
