One sided 7 inch single, Nick Drake Cello Song, in near mint condition, plays wonderfully with just the perfect hint of static that you would expect. Enhanced by a 16 page booklet, a really wonderful presentation.
I am aware how much these are worth and have 2 so letting 1 go. I have a spare copy of the hardback book, Nick Drake Remembered for a While, which the single was pressed to compliment as a limited edition package, if the buyer is interested, no dust cover, few marks on the front though in all round excellent condition. It has a small note handwritten on one of the pages, see above which is a dedication signed by the wonderfully generous and huge Nick Drake fan and folk ambassador, the broadcaster Mark Radcliffe who was playing at the Lunar festival in Tanworth in Arden near to the Drakes estate when I purchased the book. If you want it I will gift it to you, cost was £35 for just the book. Is a heavy tome so expect to pay around £8 for postage. UK only for the book offer unless you sort postage. Either way will post by Royal Mail, tracked and insured. Free postage for single only. If at all unhappy I will accept returns.
Recorded for the BBC John Peel session on 6th August 1969. Previously unreleased. A private pressing by Bryter Music to highlight the forthcoming book 'Remembered For A While', the authorised companion to the music of Nick Drake published by John Murray Publishing. The 7" sleeve contains a booklet with an extract written by Pete Paphides on the history of Nick's album ''. A Rough Trade exclusive limited to 500 copies.
On this release the cello part is played by a flute, a cello isn't heard at all.
