8 VINTAGE BEATLE ALBUMS – 5 ARE ORIGINAL FIRST RELEASES
The information in this listing is considered accurate but not guaranteed correct. I tried my best to be detailed and honest.
"First release" might have a more technical definition with record experts, but when I say "first release" here in this description, I mean the album was bought during the time when it was first released and was on store record shelves.
Photo 4 corresponds to the numbered list below.
1. Introducing the Beatles (first release): Vee-Jay VJLP 1062, 63-3402 Long Playing - Has its outer sleeve/jacket (album cover) but no inner sleeve.
2. Introducing the
Beatles (first release): Vee-Jay VJLP 1062, 63-3402 Long Playing - Just a vinyl record. There is no outer sleeve/jacket
(album cover) and the record has a chip in it. See photos.
3. The Beatles Second Album (first stereo release): Capitol Records, ST-2080 - Just a vinyl record. There is no album cover or inner sleeve.
4. Magical Mystery Tour (Not a first release. This is from the early 1970s): Capitol Records, SMAL-2835 - Has its album cover but no inner sleeve. The original 24-page photo booklet also comes with this album. The original front and back pages of this booklet (pgs. 1 & 2 and 23 & 24) are still attached to the inside of the album cover. The 20 other pages of this booklet are detached from the front and back covers but they are all one unit held together by original staples.
5. Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Not sure when this version of Sgt Peppers was released but it’s not an original release): Apple Records, SMAS-2653. Has its album cover, no inner sleeve.
6. Abbey Road (first release): Apple Records, SO-383 - Has its album cover but no inner sleeve. The song, “Her Majesty”, plays on the album but it's not on the track listing of the album cover or on the track listing of the vinyl record.
7. Abbey Road (1976 Abbey Road release - not an original release): Capitol Records, SO-383. Has its album cover and an inner sleeve (not the original). These orange label, Capitol Record Abbey Road releases are fairly uncommon. This record is in nice shape and is likely a $20 album based on prices I have seen.
8. The Beatles Hey Jude/Again (first release): SO-385 - Has its outer album cover. The album cover has “SW-385” (you can barely read it but the album cover’s spine says “Beatles Hey Jude” but the label on the vinyl record says “The Beatles Again”).
CONDITION OF VINYL: Just about every one of these albums I bought new and played the heck out of on a cheap phonograph. I was a teen, and although I wasn't abusive, I also didn't pay a lot of attention to the proper handling of the records, so all but one of these albums show scratches and probably plays with tics and pops, etc. The “Abbey Road” Capitol release is the only record of these eight that is in nice shape (the vinyl) and in a nice after market inner sleeve. I was an adult when I got this Abbey Road copy and took good care of it. It should play pretty well.
ALBUM COVERS: Some of these album covers have a small amount of writing (initials, etc.) on them. One has a bit of tape. All have a split seam or seams, some splits are partial, and some are full. A couple of the album covers have staples or staple holes. In other words, nothing here is close to mint, VG, or G.
INNER SLEEVES: Only the “Abbey Road” Capitol release album has an inner sleeve. It’s a nice after-market inner sleeve.
These albums have not been played for years. I no longer have a turntable so I cannot vouch for how these records sound or play but I made it clear in this description what to expect with any or all (save one) of these albums so I make no warranties or guarantees of physical and/or audio quality - so no returns or refunds with these seven LPs (actually 8 LPs since there are two copies of “Introducing the Beatles”).Please message me for more specific information.
For shipping, the records will be put into their album covers, each of them will be bubble-wrapped, and then all of them will go into the shipping package.
