The Doors - Light My Fire b/w Take It As It Comes / Crystal Ship
2021 re-issue Elektra records on clear wax. This is a spare 7" re-issue styled after the band's original French 45 which had been released in 1967 on Disques Vogue records. This is a spare copy from the 2021 re-issue of the self-titled LP special edition release from the "Vinyl Me Please" series. This 7" came packaged with the LP. As far as I know this is not otherwise for sale on it's own.
The sleeve and record grade VG+ to EX, the tab has a little curve to it. Basically brand new. However, I think it's not a great pressing. Kind of noisy or fuzzy, and at the end of the second side (end of Crystal ship) there's a terrible audio panning that seems to happen in the mastering. Seems to me like a cheaply made re-issue, more for the novelty than for being an actual quality pressing. The lows sound too punchy, the bass drum causes popping sounds, just a disappointing pressing to me. Thin and punchy recording. But the item itself is in great shape. Cool re-issue of the picture sleeve, and you've got the full length version of Light My Fire on a 45. Archival sleeves. Free Media Mail shipping to US addresses.
