Elmore James had a relatively short life, dying in 1963 at 45 years of age, but his influence as the King of the Slide Guitar can still be heard in rock guitarists from Duane Allman to Stevie Ray Vaughan. He had an intense vocal style to go with his slide playing, and his riff to lead off "Dust My Broom" is instantly recognizable to any blues aficionado. He's been covered by the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Canned Heat, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, The Black Crowes and Johnny Winter. This item is a great collection of 19 of his best recordings.
