This is a brand new, in-shrink wrap record.
It doesn't have to be, though
If you choose the "Better than New" version of this record, I will open the record, it will be Ultrasonically cleaned and placed in a rice paper inner sleeve, as well as  a 4 mil cast polypropylene outer sleeve. It will arrive to you in mint condition, and fully upgraded. Could you do that yourself when you receive it? Yes. Do you want to? Up to you. Either way, you'll get it in a top of the line mailer, shipped as safely and securely as any record you've received (I'm lookin' at you, big box stores who sometimes literally just stick a mailing label on a record and call it a day.) . I only source the top of the line sleeves because I am getting them in bulk and can take advantage of discount pricing. I am fully set up with an ultrasonic cleaning system. It would cost you more to buy these products after the record is shipped to you than it will through my service. This is how I treat and store my own records: with the full force of my OCD. I will do the same for any used record. (If the listing does not offer the service, just shoot me a message)
Read on to learn the benefits of the upgrade.
Why should I clean a BRAND NEW record, you lunatic?  New records are often statically charged, which attracts dust and dirt to the record surface. Cleaning them can remove the static and prevent noise and distortion during playback. New records may also have residue from the manufacturing process, such as release agent, which can contaminate your stylus and affect the sound quality. Cleaning them can remove the residue and protect your stylus from wear and tear. New records may also have dust or debris from the factory or the packaging, which can damage the grooves and cause pops and clicks. Cleaning them can remove the dust and debris and preserve the condition of your record

You know it will work properly

I will check for warps, scratches, and other imperfections before shipping. I will play it once through (upon request only). When the record reaches you, you can be 100% sure that it will sound its absolute best.

Okay, but why Ultrasonic Cleaning?  requires no contact with the record surface, preventing scratches and abrasions. reaches deep into the grooves, where other cleaning methods may not be effective. improves the sound quality, clarity, and detail of the record by removing contaminants that can cause noise and distortion. extends the life of the stylus by reducing the buildup of dirt and dust on the needle.
Almost there. Why the rice paper inner sleeves?  eco-friendly and biodegradable, unlike plastic sleeves. soft and smooth, allowing records to glide in and out without scuffing the surface. slightly larger than standard sleeves, making them more suitable for modern 180g vinyl records. thicker and more durable than standard paper sleeves, reducing the risk of creasing and crumpling. They are considered by some to be the industry standard fgor archival quality record protection.
And the outer sleeves? Polypropylene?  eco-friendly and recyclable, unlike PVC sleeves. smooth and flexible, allowing records to slide in and out easily without damaging the cover or the vinyl. slightly oversized, making them compatible with gatefold and double albums. thicker and stronger than polyethylene sleeves, reducing the risk of tearing and wrinkling. considered by some to be the best option for preserving the album artwork and the sound quality of vinyl records.
Do I have to?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. I will leave it in the shrink wrap and send it to you in a top of the line mailer. I'll probably also send stickers. Cause, you know. Stickers.
Will you do this for Used Records as well?
ABSOLUTEY YES. I will be adding this as an option for every one of my records. If it isn't there yet, it will be soon. Just shoot me a message.
