This film score got me into soundtrack collecting (along with Alfred the Great that l remember buying on the same day). So why am l selling it?
It has been a quest of mine for the last 55 years to find a perfect copy (and still looking!)
This is an LP from the days of heavy pickups and arms plus those auto changers with sapphire styli that were more often worn out and most LPs didn’t fair very well with the teenage buyers. The saving grace with this Columbia label in mono (no stereo releases ever) is the deep grooves and very LOUD recording bordering on distortion levels of gain.
Yes there are marks and scratches but to be honest it never really bothered me as it’s the recording, VERY LOUD that counts. John Barry in the period of his John Barry 7 plus many session musicians who went on to greater fame……John Scott (flute, sax), Dennis King (sax), Vic Flick (Guitar) and Les Reed (piano)
I had four copies and this is the 2nd one l’m letting go as l have still not bought that perfect record and could never get a cartridge to fully track John Scott’s perfect flute solo on The City 2000 A.D. Now that track is good enough for a test record!
Record is Very Good, no skips ever!
Sleeve Very Good and reverse has slight yellowing/browning (not as bad as most out there) as back covers were never laminated back then and the LP is over 60 years old now.

This full colour album would look great framed!
One point l would mention…..these old original LPs still sound better than the two CD releases in the last fifteen years…..to my ears anyway.
The quest continues !
I will always combine postage on multiple wins
