This is indeed a rare and HARD-TO-FIND GEM, even in CHILE!

We present the first original STEREO pressing from Casablanca Records, released in 1975 in Chile by “Quatro Ltda.” M.R. (Quatro Records), under license from Casablanca Records, USA. The catalog number is CBLP-9074, with hand-etched matrices: CBLP-9074A on side A and CBLP-9074B on side B. The labels are the classic “Oasis” from Casablanca of that era, without people on the cover.

Kiss's debut album - Kiss, was first released on Casablanca Records in 1974, both in the USA and the UK. However, we had to wait until late 1975 for this iconic rock album to see the light in Chile. It’s important to note that many sellers indicate the release date as 1974 since the labels state “1974,” but this is incorrect; the record was released in Chile in 1975. It's easy to verify if you know the Casablanca labels: the “Oasis without people” label only appeared in 1975, so it couldn't have been available in 1974.

Another relevant aspect of this original Chilean pressing is that, although the record was manufactured in Chile, the cover came from Brazil. Quatro Records, possibly to meet demand or for cost reasons, imported Brazilian covers for Kiss records in Chile. In many cases, you will also find Chilean covers, but in the case of the debut album “Kiss” and “Hotter Than Hell,” all covers were produced in Brazil. To date, no Chilean cover has been recorded for those albums.
