NEVER OFFICIALLY RELEASED 1981 PROMOTIONAL ALBUM
Promotional Interview album for the 1981 WHO album “FACE DANCES”, made and distributed by Polydor Records and marked with ‘Promotional Copy Only – Not For Resale” on the LP’s themselves..
Two Record Set, catalogue number PRO-A-994.
Cover features a ‘paint by numbers’ pastiche of the FACE DANCES cover.
Comes with four page 12” size transcript breakdown of the interviews, where they come in, with timings and also where and how long songs are (for Radio use). ( I FORGOT TO TAKE PHOTOS OF IT BUT IT IS IN PRACTICALLY PERFECT CONDITION)
Includes interviews with all members of the 1981 WHO line-up: PETE TOWNSHEND, JOHN ENTWISTLE, ROGER DALTREY AND KENNEY JONES, individually. PETE’s interview is spread over a whole LP, with the second LP having it’s entire A side devoted to JOHN ENTWISTLE and the B side split between DALTREY and KENNEY JONES.
Also included between the interviews are THE WHO tracks: “Don’t Let Go The Coat”, “Daily Records”, “You Better You Bet”, “How Can You Do It Alone?”, “The Quiet One”, “Another Tricky Day”, “Did You Steal My Money” and “Cache Cache”.
Fascinating interviews, especially the one’s with TOWNSHEND and ENTWISTLE. A very frought and confusing period in THE WHO’s and their personal lives, especially for TOWNSHEND who was struggling with drug problems and the break up of his marriage at the time. Never one to hide his answers, this candid interview captures the mood of a period that would ultimately break up the band.
NTERVIEWS COMPILED BY TREVOR DANN (future controller of BBC Radio), to add to historical aspect of release.
TRACK LISTING.  SIDE ONE INTERVIEW WITH PETE TOWNSHEND AND: “DON’T LET GO THE COAT” “DAILY RECORDS” “YOU BETTER YOU BET”

GRADING:

All records are graded using the UK ‘Record Collector’ format:

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

PACKAGING INFORMATION:

LPs and singles will be sent in a record mailing envelope and will be protected by two cardboard stiffeners.

I am new to ebay but I am an experienced buyer of vinyl and I have a very good understanding of the grading system. I have been collecting for over 20 years and I have now decided to downsize my collection due to a lack of space.

I have an extensive collection of all genres of music ranging from the 50s, if there is anything that you specifically want please get in touch and I will put it up for auction..
