About me

I am not a dealer, rather an enthusiast selling my record collection of around 300 singles and 1000 albums collected over the last 25 years. Most of these records were purchased new and all have been carefully looked after.

Grading

Records and sleeves are carefully visually graded under a bright light. I also record short samples of each side of each record to verify the visual grading. Records are played on a Goldring Lenco turntable with a Rega RB250 tonearm and Pickering XV15-625E cartridge, through an Arcam Alpha 3 amplifier into a pair of AKG K271 Studio headphones. Recordings are captured using Audacity and are saved with no filtering. I use the following abreviated gradings (standard Record Collector magazine gradings):

M (Mint) / NM (Near Mint) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Near Mint denotes a record or sleeve that falls short of perfection in one small way. EX (Excellent) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VG (Very good) - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

I won't list anything that would be graded less than VG.

Where necessary I will elaborate on these short gradings in the item description. I also use '+' and '-' to refine these gradings where necessary.

Postage and packing

I have built up my record collection over the course of 25 years and have suffered my share of problems caused by shoddy packaging. I don't intend to make these mistakes myself when packing records for postage.

Records are packed as follows:

The vinyl (in it's inner sleeve) is removed from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits The outer sleeve and vinyl (in it's inner sleeve) are placed in a polythene cover Everything is packed in a new cardboard wraparound box mailer with four additional cardboard stiffeners The mailer is sealed and marked as 'Fragile'

Multiple records are packed in a single wraparound box mailer, separated by cardboard stiffeners, up to a total of 4 records. Multiple mailers are used where necessary and are taped together to form a single parcel. In these cases you'll be charged postage at cost - please wait for a postage quote before paying.

I'll happily pack a record to your individual requirements if they are different from the packing method described above. Use of additional packing material will increase the weight and cost of postage.

My use of high quality new wraparound mailers and card stiffeners adds 50p to the postage cost but ensures that you will receive your records in the same condition that they leave me.

Shipping weight of this record is approximately 550g.

I will post this item worldwide but please note that bidders outside of the UK must pay using Paypal.

Please see the main body of the listing for postage costs to your country. If you don't see your country listed then use the 'Email Seller' link to request a postage quote.
