CONDITION

Disc

Visual: Disc 1: EXC+ to nr MINT Disc 2: nr MINT

Disc one appears virtually mint in strong daylight with only one small non feelable mark visible on side 1. On very close inspection and under a bright halogen desklight there are some light whispy sleeve removal marks visible consistant with taking the record in and out of the inner sleeve.

Disc two appears incredibly fresh , still retaining its high gloss factory sheen. It appears virtually unmarked in strong daylight, only under an intense halogen desklight can you see the occasional whispy sleeve removal mark. It is quite clear that this disc has only ever received 2 or 3 plays in its entire history, a remarkably low amount for a Beatles UK 1st pressing. Both heavy duty discs lay 100% flat on the turntable.

Labels: nr MINT

A fresh set of clean labels with no writing or marks to any label. There are some very faint spindle traces to side two but sides one, three and four are near perfect with hardly any sign that those sides have been played.

Audio:  Disc 1: EXCELLENT+ Disc 2: nr MINT

Both discs play through without any audio defects. Disc one plays with some occasional surface noise but all music signals are undistorted and the music is crisp and clear. The easily damaged ‘While my Guitar Gently Weeps’ plays superbly and is unworn. Disc two plays with full undistorted audio, the glorious ‘Savoy Truffle’ is a joy to behold with the brass section in wonderful analogue sound. Most tracks on the album grade at MINT. Neither record jumps or sticks and there are no loud pops or ticks. A great listening experience.

Cover

EXCELLENT

An original 1968 1st issue top opening numbered sleeve (0389686) in truly excellent condition. Very little signs of discoloration or ageing. The sleeve has been well cared for in the last 46 years and only shows signs of light handling and wear. The front panel

retains its high gloss laminate sheen and is free from any thumbnail creases. The  interior gatefold has some minor thumbnail creases. The back panel has a light thumbnail crease and some light discolouration towards the edges but retains its high gloss laminate sheen and shows very few signs of use. There is a slight corner bruise to the bottom right corner on the rear panel. A very impressive and clean cover which has been stored carefully throughout its history and very rare in this condition.

Black inner-sleeves:  EXCELLENT

Original 1968 inners with no seam splits.

Photos:  nr MINT

A superb and fresh set of original 1968 photos on the thicker card. None of the photos have writing on them and the backs are clean and unsoiled without pin holes or tape marks. Ringo photo grades just under nr mint at exc+

Spacer:  EXCELLENT-

Original 1968 spacer making this white album truly complete. Some light creasing but no marks or writing to any of the paper.

Poster:  EXCELLENT

Original 1968 ‘lipstick’ poster with some light handling creases, clean and unsoiled with no tape stains or pinholes.
