This auction is for a vintage four 78 RPM boxed set, in book format, that features eight popular songs by world-renown French cabaret singer Édith Piaf. CHANSONS PARISIENNES by Édith Piaf includes Les Amants De Paris (The Lovers of Paris), Monsieur Lenoble, Il Pleut (It is raining), Un Refrain Courait Dans La Rue (A tune whirled down the street), La Vie En Rose (You're too Dangerous, Chérie), C'est Marveilleux (It's marvelous), Le Chant Du Pirate (Song of the pirate) and Adieu Mon Coeur (Goodbye my love). For this Columbia album Édith Piaf had chosen eight characteristic songs of the Paris streets and cabarets, each one which tells a story or sets a rueful or sometimes happy mood. After the liberation of Paris during WWII, "The Little Sparrow" entranced huge audiences, including many American GIs, nightly with her songs in leading nightclubs. Circa late 1940s, here Columbia presents Édith Piaf with orchestras conducted by Robert Chauvigny and Guy Luypaerts. Four records in album. Columbia Records Set F-5. Cover in nice shape for age, with some wear spots and staining but mostly edge wear. Binding is in acceptable shape with some looseness. No writing or ink on cover or labels.  Records are in good shape, quite playable with a bit of static. This was always in a smoke free home. No pet damage.
