Welcome to 20th Century Collectables
Quality vinyl for the discerning collector
The rare self titled album by The Merseybeats.
Original 1964 UK 1st pressing of this ultra-rare Merseybeats album which appears to be UNPLAYED or at the very least to have been played only once. On the silver and black textured Fontana label. TL5210. Comes in its original laminated flipback sleeve.
This record received only a very small press run and is rare in its own right; however what makes this record particularly rare is its beautiful pristine condition and the fact one label carries the ultra rare CT tax code, which according to some sources goes back to the 1950’s.
Whilst the Merseybeats did not enjoy anywhere near the same success as their Liverpool rivals The Beatles, they are historically significant and were very much a part of the Liverpool music scene in the early 1960's, accordingly, this their self titled album, is a relevant piece of the jigsaw puzzle when looking at the early Mersey Beat sound which of course eventually gave birth to The Beatles and changed the face of music forever.
The Merseybeats one and only album and a classic UK beat LP from one of the most important musical periods of all time. This vinyl has investment potential.
Not to be missed.
Please note this record is NOT a re-issue.
Matrix numbers: 687314 1L & 687314 2L
Stamper codes: 1 = 420 116 & 1 = 420 117

CONDITION
Disc
Visual: MINT -
Shop fresh vinyl which looks like it left the factory only yesterday. On very close inspection and when the record is angled towards the light, there is a very insignificant mark just visible on side 1 and a light hairline just visible on side 2 but first impressions is that it is mint vinyl.
Labels: MINT
Stunning shop fresh labels which are totally unmarked and show no evidence of play whatsoever. Side 1 carries the astonishingly rare CT tax code.
Audio: MINT
One very careful play check confirms that the audio is in MINT condition with only the sound of natural vinyl. The record does not jump or stick.
Cover
EXC+/MINT-
A fabulous example of this original 1964 1st issue flipback sleeve. The front panel is unworn. The rear panel shows very little signs of ageing and is free from any writing. All flipbacks are solid and intact. The spine is in pristine condition.
Inner-sleeve Excellent+
Original inner.
