HARVEST

 SHVL 759

1st UK Press 1969

Machined matrices A-1 B-2.

A remarkable vinyl for the vinyl has two different style labels. Side 1 has the Harvest label WITHOUT the EMI logo. Side 2 has the label WITH the EMI logo. I have never seen this on any Harvest album ever. It must be extremely rare and will be a great catch for a Harvest collector!!

Deep Purple, also referred to as Deep Purple III, is the third studio album by English Rock band , released in 1969 on  in the UK and on  in the US. It was to be the last album with the original line-up.

It was released at a time when the band were starting to grow as performers, both live and in the studio, finding their direction musically. There were some conflicts over whether the band should continue on their rawer, heavier direction. This caused turmoil, which was partially responsible for two of the members,  (bass) and  (vocals), being replaced. Commercially, this album was the least successful of the three Mark I era albums. Nick Simper went on to form Warhorse.

As was also the case with most of the material on their previous two albums, the songs have a psychedelic rock sound, particularly in the seventh track "Bird has Flown", and a progressive rock feel that verges on classical music, particularly in the long introductory sequence of the 12-minute final track "April", Deep Purple's longest ever studio recording. The band also incorporated a  structure on the songs "The Painter" and "Why Didn't Rosemary?". The sound of the album was heavier than previous works, similar to how the band sounded live during this period.

A fantastic ultra heavy vinyl and even despite a couple of light hairlines this plays phenomenally. The ultra high groove walls ensure the very best audio experience possible for this album. The vinyl retains its beautiful gloss and has probably not been played very much. Of course NO skips, jumps, crackle etc.

Vinyl: VG+ to EX. A smashing ultra heavy first press vinyl with a few of wispy shallow hairlines. This is a well looked after copy of this now classic album. The groove walls on these first Harvest pressings are extremely high and it sounds!! The audio is splendid and the stereo separation supreme!! Of course NO jumps, sticks or skips. Just some light static on the deadwax in between tracks. Will definitely benefit from professional clean.

Gatefold sleeve: EX.  A great looking laminated gatefold sleeve which has a fully readable spine and straight crisp edges. Just a couple of tiny pinholes in the corner, blink and you'll miss them. There is no writing or smudging, the inside gatefold is totally unmarked. This is a very hard find these days and I hadn't seen this LP for many years until I came across this great copy.

Get it while you still can!

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.

Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 20.00.  Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
