Although a five-piece, there's a lean, muscular feeling to tracks like "Work My Body" that contrasts nicely with the all-out aural assault of "Fiend". In terms dynamics, Leaf Hound clearly knew the range of amplifier settings between 0 and 10 and were very prepared to use them. That said though, there always seemed to be room for Mich Halls to stretch out and show his undoubted guitar skills. Interestingly, the titles of the album's nine original tracks, like the name of the band it's self, were taken from an anthology of stories by horror writer Herbert Van Thal.
