Save BIG on Combined Shipping!
Be sure to see my other record, DVD, CD and book auctions on eBay. Adding any of those items to your package will cost only an additional 50 cents per auction to any United States address. (Note that comic books cannot be shipped by Media Mail, so they are not included in this offer. See below for details.) ALSO: I will refund any excess shipping you end up paying if eBay charges you full shipping amounts (instead of 50 cents) for any "Buy It Now" auctions of mine that you win after the first. Only the first auction you win will cost you full shipping, in other words, and every one after that will be only 50 cents each for any Media Mail items. Go nuts!
----- Important Note -----
This is a vinyl record, it is not a CD! (Just wanted to make that clear...)
----- Description of Item -----
Photos above always show the actual item or items that you will get, because I never use "stock photos." (Excuse any reflections or focus issues!)
Outer slipcase box has lots of problems, but the records themselves look nearly like new (some look as if they never were removed from their sleeves!). This is the Reader's Digest 10-LP collection HEAR THEM AGAIN! ORIGINAL RECORDINGS BY THE ALL-TIME POPULAR SINGING STARS COLLECTOR'S EDITION, with (as the box says) 122 Great Songs and 89 Great Singers. 1968, catalog number RDA-49-A.
See the photos above for lists of the songs and artists, who include Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, Mario Lanza, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, Tommy Dorsey, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Paul Whiteman, Fred Astaire, Lena Horne, Bing Crosby, Mary Martin, Kate Smith, Eddy Arnold, Enrico Caruso, Jimmy Durante, Harry Belafonte and dozens more!
See below for more info.
----- Condition -----
My standard disclaimer about vinyl: As with all vinyl records, there will be at least some pops, clicks and other surface noise, so do not expect flawlessly pristine CD sound quality. I grade on the following scale: Like New, Very Good (some flaws, nothing major), Good (more noticeable flaws, but still acceptable), Fair (looking pretty bad, but not a total disaster) and Poor (really bad with major defects).
SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Overall condition: While the box is in only "Fair" condition, the records are Like New!
Jacket: Only FAIR condition. Box has some splits, impressions, marks and rough areas at corners and edges. It still does its job, holding the inner "drawer" securely, but it looks rough. The inner "drawer" box, with a fold-down flap that lists all of the song titles, has marks and discoloration on the edge that sticks out of the box, but otherwise is Very Good.
Records: Visual inspection only (I have not played these records). There are 10 LPs, each in its own sleeve. All look virtually new, very clean and glossy. The only sides that show any possible flaws are Record 2 Side One, which has some long marks; Record 3 Side 1 (ditto); and Record 10 (both sides have some marks). Most of these records look as if they never were removed from their sleeves until I looked at them today!
Labels: Like New.
Inner sleeves: Very Good. The sleeves are heavy card stock lined with plastic and show some edgewear, marks and impressions, but nothing disastrous.
Booklet: Like New. Really interesting large-format 32-page "Do Your Remember?" booklet has information about every song and artist on all 10 records in this collection, with lots of black-and-white photos throughout.
You'll love it!
ANOTHER GREAT AUCTION, FROM A SMOKE-FREE, PET-FREE HOME!
----- Shipping -----
Flat $3.99 shipping for Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation to any United States address. (And that is MUCH less than what this will cost me to mail, because it is VERY heavy!!!) Bonus: Add only 50 cents for each additional auction of mine after the first that can be shipped by Media Mail (which includes records, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays and books, but not comic books).
If you also are interested in any of my comic-book auctions: Although comic books cannot be shipped by Media Mail (because the post office does not consider them "books"), a Priority Mail Flat Rate box that can hold either 80 comics or a combination of comics and other items will cost only a flat $11.30. That means you can mix-and-match Media Mail and non-Media Mail items (such as comic books) and still pay no more than $11.30, so long as everything will fit inside an 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" box that is big enough to hold 80 comics. If this method ends up being cheaper for you than having your Media Mail winnings shipped separately from your non-Media Mail winnings, I definitely will make sure that you pay the lowest amount possible, whether that means shipping things together or separately!
INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: eBay adds a substantial premium to the cost of international shipping as part of their Global Shipping service. None of that extra money goes to me. I only get exactly the same shipping amount that a US bidder would pay, and all of the rest goes to eBay. So don't blame me if eBay's shipping prices to other countries are high, because I have absolutely no control over them! ALSO: eBay's Global Shipping Program is the only method that I use to ship to international bidders. So whatever price eBay's shipping calculator lists is how much shipping will cost you, there are no other alternatives.
Good luck!
