Cannonball Adderly - Somethin’ Else LP – 1595 Blue Note 47 W 63rd Street, New York 23, NY.

A rare original 1st Pressing of the Cannonball Adderly Classic – Somethin’ Else on Blue Note BLP 1595 LP.

This LP is the Mono Deep Groove press with the address 47 West 63rd., New York 23 on the back cover & 47 West 63rd, NYC on the LP complete with the RVG & “Ear” in the dead wax.

What makes this an original first pressing :

- The absence of that little ‘R” under the large ‘E’ in BLUE NOTE on both sides of the LP label.

- The LP label also says Blue Note Records… (Not Blue Note Records Inc.)

- 47 West 63rd., NYC address on both sides of the LP label.

- A deep groove on both sides.

- RVG & an ‘Ear’ on both sides

The record itself is in good condition depending on how you grade. It does has some fine / medium fine scuffs on both sides. There is a small but noticeable scratch on Side 1, and a larger much more noticeable scratch on Side 2 as shown in the photos. This one is certainly not for the audiophile, as there will be some static / pops depending on your turntable… But if you are someone who wants to have an original 1st pressing of this exquisite album in their collection for its historical significance, than this one is most certainly for you !

The record cover is in very good condition considering its age. The front looks great, especially if you plan to display this one. The back side is another story… Sadly, there is a piece of the cover paper torn away at the bottom right corner. There is also some cracking / flaking at the corners, as well as some along the top part of the spine and bottom edge.

The LP comes with what is probably its original inner sleeve but it’s not in great shape as most of the sides have split to some degree, with some rips and tears.
