ROLLING STONES: Sticky Fingers UK 1st pressing 1971 COC 59100 matrix A4/B3 Stereo LP

There are 2 identical UK 1st pressings. One with matrix A3/B3 and one with matrix A4/B3. Both were pressed before the album was released from first generation lacquers. There are no earlier matrix numbers. Hand written in the run off grooves is: T M L ROLLING STONES RECORDS, only the original pressings have this designation. (TML stands for The Mastering Lab). -Information courtesy of collectorsfrenzy.com

The disc is in very good condition. There is light audible surface ‘hiss’ on the track run ins and the occasional light ’click’ which does not detract from the overall reproduction quality*. The cover has some marks, creases and stains. A small piece of cover card above the belt on the front cover has been lost. There is a 3M Magic tape repair to the spine. Also included is an insert credit sheet. The zip works. Please see the photographs.

*A record of this age however well stored will collect a certain amount of dust and specks of paper fibre from the inner sleeve. As far as possible I remove any surface dust with a carbon fibre brush and lens cleaning cloth and then describe the condition of the disc after a test play. I have achieved impressive enhanced reproduction quality almost eliminating any surface noise on records of a similar age by a thorough wet clean with a solution of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.

This LP was test played on a Garrard 401 turntable with SME arm and Shure V15 cartridge/stylus with a tracking force of 1 gram.
