ELVIS PRESLEY - First LP ALBUM - RCA LPM-1254 - MONO c.1956
IMPORTANT: Please BE SURE to note the condition of this record and cover.
I have a decent eye for things but have limited experience grading records, particularly using the Goldmine scale (where "good" really isn't "good", etc).
So I will use my own terms and trust the pics will tell you more.
As you can see the cover I would certainly call in "poor" condition.
There are old tape repairs on three sides so I would presume they have split... 'many years ago in fact, as the tape has yellowed considerably, particularly on the back. Some scuffing as well.
Fortunately, the vinyl is somewhat better... "not great" mind you, but not what I would call "trashed", either. Nothing that looks like a nail has been dragged across it, etc.
There are visible scratches, though, 'most I would call light to moderate.
The first two cuts on Side 2 might be problematic, but not sure as I haven't played this (I no longer have a turntable).
I think the album would otherwise play OK, though I would expect some pops and clicks, etc.
The actual paper labels are in good condition with a little wear at the spindle hole, but complete with no tears or writing (see bottom pics).
Like most vintage collectibles "it is what it is"... 'you're welcome to email with any questions.
Overall, a bit on the rough side but "the real deal" and would suffice as a placeholder until a better copy comes along (be aware these can get well into the hundreds of dollars in top condition).
Carefully packed in proper mailing box... thank you!
'Thank you!
