SECOND ALBUM from this, at the time, young prodigeous talent. The contents are brilliantly written and executed with Elton pushing the boundaries of contemporary singer-songwriter excellence. Backed by progressive rock band Hookfoot, the content is deliciously expansive with tracks such as 'Your Song' marking a high point in his career.

As you know, the first edition of this album was issued in a textured gatefold cover. Later copies were changed to an untextured cover when Elton's career began to take off commercially in an effort to save on manufacturing costs. This is an original copy with a near mint cover - impossible to find.

Beautiful copy and so hard to find. Blood red vinyl.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Super clean condition. No spindle marks and no other signs of use. Vinyl is blood red when held up to strong light. Grades as top MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed fully textured gatefold cover. Sharp corners, one miscule ding, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff and totally uncrushed. Gades as top MINT-!
