!Action Pact! were a punk rock band, formed in 1981 with guitarist Wild Planet, bassist Dr. Phibes, drummer Joe Fungus and singer George Cheex, who got the job because of "her courage to scream along with the band's songs."  The band hailed from Stanwell, a small village under the flight-path by Heathrow Airport, inspiring some of their songs.

Both George and Joe were 15 years old and still attending school when the Heathrow Touchdown EP was released in October, 1981. The band's contributions to the EP, 'London Bouncers' and 'All Purpose Action Footwear', got the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel. He played the single many times and wanted the band to record their first session, which they did on February 22nd, 1982.  They recorded 'People', 'Suicide Bag', 'Mindless Aggression', 'Losers', and 'Cowslick Blues'.

The EP and Peel session tape caught the attention of the fledgling label Fall Out Records, a subsidiary of Jungle, which signed the band as the first act on its roster.  !Action Pact!'s label debut, the Suicide Bag EP, was released in July 1982 and rocketed to the top of the British punk and indie charts. 

Drummer Grimly Fiendish and bassist Thistles later joined the band, and their producer Phil Langham (of The Dark) also provided bass for a while under the name Elvin Pelvin.  Dr. Phibes continued to contribute his insightful lyrics to the band.

Five more singles entered the indie charts including ‘Yet Another Dole Queue Song’, and a reworked ‘London Bouncers’, along with two albums, ‘Mercury Theatre – On The Air’ and ‘Survival of the Fattest’.  A second John Peel session, and a further David ‘Kid’ Jensen BBC session were also recorded and broadcast on Radio One.

They gigged around the UK and in Europe, building relationships on the way with other bands like the Newtown Neurotics, whose Steve Drewett featured on one of their singles.  They eventually called it a day after four years, around 1985/6.

We also accept cheques from UK banks in Pounds Sterling, and UK Postal Orders. Checks in US Dollars from US banks can be accepted with a $3 surcharge. 
PayPal ‘eCheque’ payments take a week longer to arrive, so expect a delay if you use that facility.  You can avoid eCheques by having a credit-card linked to your PayPal account. 
Orders paid by any method outside the PayPal system will likely be subject to delays.

POSTAGE
The amount we charge is what we expect to pay plus approx 15-35p for packing materials. 
There's no such thing as 'free postage'.  Ebay charge 10% commission on postage to try to make us offer free postage - but then we can't offer reduced postage for multiple items: -
MULTIPLE ITEMS POSTAGE
For multiple items, there will be automatic approximated reduction in postage costs of 50% of further items postage.  BUT make sure you first ADD THEM TO YOUR CART to order them together, not individually.  Depending on the weight of the items, this estimate may not be exact. 
If you want and can wait for an accurate calculation then first put ALL the items into your basket, then go to 'Contact Seller'.  There, click on the 'Request total from seller' button.  We'll then recalculate your combined items postage and send you an invoice, but this may take a day or two.  The postage may or may not calculate as less.  (We're not sure if Ebay provides a 'shopping cart' in all territories?)
DELIVERY TIME excludes weekends and Bank Holidays, which may be different in the UK from elsewhere. 
Packets to overseas destinations (particularly Italy, Russia, South America) often take longer than advertised due to local customs delays. 
OVERSEAS POST is by Royal Mail Air Mail Small Packet, for which there is NO TRACKING number.  Currently we don't regularly offer a 'signed for' or tracked service; but message us if your order is over £50 value and you'd like to add such a service.  WE ADVISE A SIGNED-FOR SERVICE FOR ALL BRAZIL ORDERS.
Please note, the date printed on our postage is a day or two after we print it, ie it’s the date it remains valid until with Royal Mail, not the date of posting.
PACKAGING: For vinyl we use sturdy card cruciforms, not envelopes, and if not shrinkwrapped we remove discs from sleeves, to avoid sleeve splits.  For CDs we use corrugated cardboard, not jiffy bags.
