Peter Maag conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in this lovely disc of the Incidental Music to 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by Mendelssohn.
Other performers: Jennifer Vyvyan and Marian Lowe (sopranos) and the Female Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
Record details: Decca SXL 2060. Wide band grooved label. Stereo. 1st pressing with blue border on back of sleeve.
Date of issue: 1959.
Condition of disc: There are slight marks to the surface of side one but this disc is generally in very good condition. It has a clean, glossy appearance and plays perfectly.
Condition of sleeve: Very good. These early Deccas had thin card sleeves with no details on the spine. The back of this one has a blue border (see photo). The sleeve is in very good condition but has some slight scuff marks to the bottom edge and the open edge. Inner sleeve is VG+. The sleeve notes are by Robert Boas.
