"GALLIARD - STRANGE PLEASURE" RAREST EVER TO FIND, ON DERAM NOVA! IT IS BELIEVED THAT JUST A FEW HUNDRED WERE PRESSED ON THIS LABEL! ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE VERY RAREST ON THE LABEL WHICH OF COURSE IS ULTRA COLLECTIBLE.

First album by the brilliant British early Jazz-Rock Fusion band Galliard, which somehow slipped into obscurity in spite of the fact that they were as good as any of the famous bands of the genre, which enjoyed enormous success. The band comprised of trumpeter Dave Caswell (who composed 2 of the tracks on this album, guitarist / vocalist Geoff Brown (who composed the rest of the material), bassist Andy Abbott, lead guitarist Richard Pannel, drummer Les Podraza and saxophonist John Smith, but was expanded by additional brass players during the recording session: saxophonist Lyle Jenkins, trumpeter Harry Beckett, trombonist John Hughes and others. The music is excellent, typical of the era, with unexpected turns and twists and superb brass arrangements, often quite complex and always beautifully executed. This is a true lost gem and Jazz-Rock Fusion / Prog fans not familiar with this heavenly music should embrace it with joy. Most warmly recommended!

Vinyl: VG++ . Stunning deep glossy and heavy vinyl. This has certainly not been overplayed. A beautiful glossy vinyl with just a few wispy hairlines which do not cause any trouble on replay. Under a strong light just some wispy retraction paper traces can be seen. These are totally invisible in normal light. I subjected the record to a detailed listen on my high end system and it sounded stunning. Lovely channel separation without any distortion or crackle. Two tiny pops on side 2. A little static mainly on the beginning of each side which is just a normal feature really on most LP's from the era. I would say that this LP is well above average condition and will sit nicely in a quality collection.

Sleeve: VG++.   Front laminated and printed by Senol Printing Limited. light corner creases but the sleeve is totally undamaged without any tears or repairs. A little writing to the rear and that's all. It has the peep hole to the rear. The pictures give you some impression of the quality at hand in this auction. NO tears and NO splits. NO stickers or sellotape. A well above average sleeve. This album hardly ever comes up these days and is a true investment object.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
