Please do not anticipate a price reduction on this item as this is an investment piece that will only grow in value. With only 500 copies produced 34 years ago very few remain in this condition. Please do you research, review Discogs and other sites for availability, you simply can not find a Mint condition vinyl for less than £600 anywhere.

Product/Provenance

Strange Tales From The Rain - (STFtR) subtitled "Prince: 1978-1984" is the first promotional compilation album by Prince, available in late 1984, the Album was only available in Japan on 12” Vinyl, following the success of the Purple Rain soundtrack and movie.

Limited to 500 copies manufactured (This is a strictly limited release).

The first vinyl includes all Prince-related tracks included in the Purple Rain movie, included in the order they appeared in the film, including those by The Time and Apollonia 6.

The second Vinyl includes Prince's previous hits presented in rough chronological order based on their release as singles, as well as Sheila E.'s The Glamorous Life.

The double-vinyl album comprises of recordings from six Prince/Prince and the Revolution studio albums and three related artist albums, all released originally between 1978 and 1984.

The versions included on the album are not all album versions. Let's Go Crazy was included as an extended remix previously included on the Let's Go Crazy single, while several other tracks were included in previously-released edited form. The inclusion of God, a b-side, was rather unusual, especially as the vocal version included here had not been included in the movie, which instead featured the instrumental version.

Condition

Sleeve - Excellent, conservatively graded to accommodate some minor ageing, wear, light creasing, etc. The Gatefold sleeve is in lovely condition

Vinyls - Mint, stunning unplayed condition

Vinyl Labels - Mint as new

This is a beautiful example, enhanced by the incredibly rare Mint vinyls. STFtR can be seen fairly regularly on the market place however more often than not it’s a poor condition copy repeatedly being listed as there are very few in circulation with this examples condition of vinyl, labels and sleeve.

Do not miss out on this record in this condition, one of the Holy Grails for Prince collectors, once its gone it’s gone as this is my only copy for sale and I do not believe I will be able to acquire another in this condition.
