Mobile Fidelity Original MFSL 1-028 Master Recording MELISSA MANCHESTER (SEALED)*
When CDs first made their appearance, vinyl LPs fell upon very hard times. Everyone seemed to want the new format -- compact disc.
One of the casualties was MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LABS / MFSL -- a vendor of remastered super fidelity audiophile LP recordings.
*With demand way down for LPs, a number of MFSL titles found their way into the closeout pipeline as "cutouts." What's a cutout? It's literally an album with some kind of physical cut in its album jacket/cover -- without damaging the record itself.
These cutouts were done to indicate a discontinued item/title. Sometimes the cut took the form of a small circular punch mark. Other times (as is the case here) the cut was merely a small notch cut in the jacket. The cut here can be seen in the lower left of the obverse picture, and the lower right on the reverse. It's pretty subtle... just 1/4" to 3/8" long.
Albums were purchased around 1990.
