King Crimson - Red - 1974 UK LP - 1st Issue A-3U / B-6U - EX/EX
Label/Cat. No.: Island ILPS 9308
Martix No.s: A-3U / B-6U
Condition(Vinyl/Sleeve): EX / EX
The vinyl is still shiny and has only some very, very light 'hairlines' visible on it under strong light. The sound quality is superb overall. It's a struggle to detect crackle anywhere on side 1. Side 2 also plays great, though with fairly frequent (but not constant) very quiet light crackles through much of the side, obviously more noticeable during the very dynamic improvisation Providence. However, you mostly have to listen very hard to notice them (particularly during Starless) and I don't believe they impose in any way on the music. No cyclical clicks anywhere.
The sleeve has some light ring wear to rear, plus several small tears to the bottom edge (see photo) but is otherwise in beautiful shape. The Island inner sleeve has minor creasing and a couple of discoloured patches. The labels have a couple of faint spindle marks but no writing. Overall a really nice copy of this great album.
