Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Limited Edition; #0769 of only 5000 produced by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in 1984. Beautiful Vinyl is like fine etched "black jade". Absolute silence throughout album with only one very minor pop on one track (I believe it's track one). It's possible it could have even been my turntable/stylus. In any case, this sound is very minor. Being very particular this does not detract one bit from the listening experience.
Of all the GBYBR pressings out there (UK, DJM, original MCA’s SACD etc.) the MFSL is definitely the quietest of them all-by far-making it appealing as it is a very challenging album on vinyl because of all the solo piano sections and quiet ambient bits. I don't see how you could get a vinyl record to completely behave during the "Funeral For a Friend" synth intro. But here you find it! Awesome sound.
Very faint-almost invisible-approximately three or four extremely light spindle marks on sides 1 & 2. There are zero spindle marks on sides 3 & 4. All four labels are very clean-like new-with no writing, stains or wear.
Vinyl: Near Mint (NM) Beautiful! Absolutely perfect with possibly one minor pop.
Album Cover: Excellent-Plus Condition (EX+). Visual eye appeal is a 10! Front, back and all three sections (all sides) of this tri-fold album cover are in perfect shape. No ring wear what-so-ever! No bends, tears, stains. No fading or marks. Very light edge wear at top & bottom only. Spines are all solid with no splits. Extremely mild signs of wear. All text on covers and spine is clear and bold. Bottom spine corner has an extremely tiny (1 or 2 millimeter) tear beginning (see photos).
Please inquire for detailed macro photos or if you have any questions.
