This is a Sheffield Lab direct disk recording, an exacting recording process in which no tape machines are used and in which no mixing or overdubbing is possible. This is a live, uninterrupted performance recorded directly on to a master lacquer disk resulting in dramatic reduction of tape-induced distortion and allowing for greatly increased dynamic range, phase linearity and transparency.
