The Band modestly gave their group name to this album. This is an excellent copy of the 1973 pressing, made at the Jacksonville plant, with the original gatefold album featuring photos of the recording session. The Band's second studio album, The Band was first released in 1969. A milestone in the history of roots music. This LP is in near mint condition, with no prints or scratches, a very quiet surface. Has been played a few times on top-quality equipment (SOTA turntable, Syrinx arm, Clearaudio cartridge) and will be cleaned once more before shipment using Nitty Gritty Record Cleaning vacuum machine. The jacket is in good condition but shows some scuffing on the spine. Will ship promptly. UPDATE: Thanks to the Ebay member who called my attention to my error in letting Ebay provide the description. This is NOT the Mobile Fidelity 2013 re-release but the original 1973 Capital release. (I have not heard the 2013 re-issue but I have read that there was no master tape, unlike for most MFSL projects, so they simply tweaked the early LPs as their source and may not have improved on them.)
