This is volume 7 of what was the top of the line, chronological Djangologie series by EMI/Pathe. It includes tracks from a Dec 21, 1937 session to one from Mar 7, 1938. Bands vary from guitar solo to bands featuring the guitar great but led by violinist Michel Warlop, trumpeter Philippe Brun, or saxophonist Benny Carter. There are trios with Grappelli (here spelled Grappelly), Warlop, Brun, and basist Louis Vola. Songs included are some very popular and some not so well known. A good balanced selection.
