What I’m offering is a RARE picture sleeve Levi’s (Strauss & Co.) promotional Salesman’s record issued in 1968. This is the revised edition from 1968, which oddly enough, seems to be exactly the same as the original edition from 1968. I’m not really sure what was revised.

This record was issued to radio stations only and was never available for sale to the general public.

The record contains five psychedelic-tinged jingles, complete with sitar on a couple of tracks, that promoted their current lines of Levi’s jeans and slacks. Supposedly, the five jingles on the record were recorded by local San Francisco (the home of Levi’s) area musicians as was the 1967 Levi’s jingle which featured the San Francisco-based Jefferson Airplane. The musicians on this particular record are unknown and were unfortunately not quite the caliber of the Jefferson Airplane, though they do a very credible job in their own right. Quite enjoyable.

NOTE: Sorry I cannot provide sound files, but all five jingles can be found on YouTube if you are unfamiliar with them.

The grading on the record is VG sleeve, strong EX record. The picture sleeve, which is never included if and when this record comes up for sale, has heavy staining/ discoloration, a few bends/ creases and a couple of ½ inch or less tears at the top on the back. The record has a couple of light surface marks on side one and a surface mark on side two, all of which are totally inaudible and does not affect its play. The record does however play back with a little bit of underlying background noise.

Be sure to check out the other records that I am currently selling on Ebay. I always adjust shipping costs on multiple wins.

Email me if you have any questions. I have been selling records since 1989 so you can rest assured that my grading is thorough and accurate. So bid with confidence.

To prevent any splits to the picture sleeve, I will be shipping the 45 inside of a plain white sleeve along with the picture sleeve.

The item will be mailed out in a custom 45 record mailer to prevent damage during shipping.

Payment expected within 3 days.
