Ella Fitzgerald - ELLA FITZGERALD AT THE OPERA HOUSE is a 1958 Mono LP release on the Verve label # MGV-8264.
Taken from a Jazz at the Philharmonic tour, Ella Fitzgerald is backed by pianist Oscar Peterson, guitarist Herb Ellis, bassist Ray Brown, and drummer Jo Jones on Side One. On Side Two she is accompanied by Stan Getz, Coleman Hawkins, Illinois Jacquet, Lester Young, Sonny Stitt, and Roy Eldridge in addition to those on Side One. "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Oh, Lady Be Good" find her backed by a riffing eight-horn all-star group. The music is wonderful, there are variations between the different versions, and her voice was at its prime.
The jacket shows wear on the front, back & corners. The record is in VG+ to EX condition.
