Rare Black Sabbath Vol 4 2nd Vinyl UK Press LP Vertigo Swirl EX+/EX Complete.
This is a very much sought after (and much rarer than the 1st press) early edition of Black Sabbaths 4th album “Vol 4” on the Vertigo Swirl labels.
It was pressed in 1973 just before Vertigo changed their labels from the famous swirl logo to the spaceship, and a few moths from the original release date.
Matrix endings are 1Y//2 2Y//2 and has “made in England” on the labels and “deluxe” on rear of sleeve (rather than the VO price code).
The vinyl is fully play tested and grades as EX+ overall. It has a few very light hairlines but plays beautifully throughout with great clear audio. No problems with this copy and sounds great throughout.
The gatefold sleeve is EX overall with a small sticker removal mark on the front and a couple of very small marks in biro (see photos). Inside is in great condition and is complete with the 4 page booklet. No rips, tears or creases.
It comes complete with its original Large Vertigo swirl inner bag. catalogue number written in biro but otherwise great condition. VG+
Overall this is a great sounding and looking early pressing. It’s also far rarer than the original 1st press so is a great addition to have for collectors and Sabbath fans.
